Tis’ the season for spring cleaning!
With no better way to start off the season, we will give you helpful tips in cleaning out your bathroom cupboards.
Toss’ out the old, in with the new!
I’m sure I am not the only one who has that compartment in their bathroom dedicated to ‘maybe one day I’ll use those’ products?
Most consumers are not aware that skin care, and especially make-up does actually have a forever shelf life and can go off.
Follow theses steps as a great tool to help you decide what to ditch…
- Anything past the expiration date
- Products that appear dry or crusty
- Anything that has changed consistency, color, or smell
- Anything with an SPF older than one year (SPF loses its effectiveness over time and it’s just not worth the risk.)
- Mascara older than three months. (Always toss it after three months, regardless of how much there is remaining.)
- Old, dirty make-up brushes and sponges
Now, what do you have left ?
This is the perfect opportunity to stock up with fresh, spring season makeup and skincare.
Don’t forget that change of season also means to re-evaluate your skin care regime.
It’s time to shed the winter layer and bring out the fresh, glowing spring look!
Without wasting product of course!
So when you run out of your daily moisturiser, it is now time to switch up to a lighter everyday moisturiser with an SPF in it if possible.
As the temperature rises our skin tends to produce slightly more oil, so opting for a light weight moisturiser with spf will ensure that your skin is still hydrated enough and protected from our harsh Australian UVA/UVB rays.
Is is recommended to exfoliate more in Spring and Summer, so if you have an exfoliating scrub, be sure to use that 2-3 times a week gently all over the face excl. eyes.
This will help with cell renewal and overall rejuvenation of the dry, rough winter coat.
Treat yourself to a hydrating and soothing face mask at least once a week.
This will help give you skin the hydration we tend to lack in winter time, hydration helps give our skin that glowing, fresh and bright look!
*Hot Tip – Try do this on a night you also have a hair mask in, as we cannot forget about our dry brittle winter hair.
** DRINK PLENTY OF WATER – Our skin lacks topical hydration(from products) but also internal hydration is so incredibly important for our skin to make sure we drink up! Opt for 8 Glasses a day. 🙂
